Angelenos Invited to Connect and Be Inspired at the First Free Gathering In 2026 of "The Music Center’s Innovation Social," Featuring Immersive Stories Created by Arizona State University to Document, Remember and Heal from the L.A. Wildfires

Friday, January 9, 2026
6:00–9:00 P.M.

WHAT:
The next iteration of The Music Center’s Innovation Social welcomes Arizona State University’s Narrative and Emerging Media program, under the direction of Nonny de la Peña, whose faculty and students will share the compelling stories captured through immersive tools to help Angelenos remember, reflect and bear witness to collective events such as the 2025 L.A. wildfires. Taking place near the one-year anniversary of the devastating infernos, the free gathering invites guests to connect through VR and AR stories, as well as interactive 3D stations that document the personal and environmental narratives emerging from the fires. The evening will also feature a performance by Evolve Altadena and special gifts given by TreePeople.

The Music Center’s Innovation Social series of events is designed to spark imagination among Angelenos through a range of reality-bending projects, inviting the public to connect and envision the future of art, culture and Los Angeles.

The Music Center’s Innovation Social is made possible by a grant from Agog: The Immersive Media Institute with additional support from Sony Pictures Entertainment.
